Children's Room

The Children's department offers regular storytimes for children birth up to age 6.  The toddlers storytime for children birth up to age 3 with a caregiver is a great introduction to the library where toddlers hear language, stories and songs.  They are encouraged to participate in fingerplays and action rhymes.  This storytime meets September through early December, late January or early February to early May.

Preschool storytime for children ages 3 to 6 years of age helps children transition to a short time without a caregiver, encourages listening skills and participating in songs and fingerplays.

This storytime meets the same months as the toddler with the addition of June and July storytimes.

Summer Reading encompasses a state wide theme and provides programming for children 3 years old to children entering 6th grades.

The Children's room has materials to check out for babies (board books), preschool (picture books), elementary school beginning readers (easy books), chapter books (fiction), nonfiction, recorded books, videos, DVD's,  magazines, and puppets.  Enjoy the new puppet show stage or build something with the blocks.
